LPG WEEK 2023: the Energy team heads to Rome

Together with our colleagues from the Energy & Industrial SBU, Andrew and Egidio, we took part in LPG Week 2023, which has just wrapped up in Rome: a global event for the LPG industry.

For the fifth time, the leading players of the World LPG Forum and the European Liquid Gas Congress came together, bringing their two annual events into one single conference and exhibition that involved:

The event took place in the stunning “La Nuvola” venue designed by Fuksas, which welcomed exhibitors and visitors from all over the world. This year’s theme was ‘Just Energy’, a call to the challenge of ensuring energy that is:

  • clean;
  • accessible;
  • sustainable.

During LPG Week 2023, industry and political leaders discussed and explored the potential of the LPG and renewable liquid gas markets, which increasingly aim to become an accessible and low-carbon energy system.

Visitors had the opportunity to discover the latest products and the most innovative services available to the supply chain. What we observed among the participating companies was a strong need to recalibrate their hardware offering, moving increasingly towards digitalisation.

In conversations with the leading players in the sector, a number of key themes emerged:

  • simplification and usability;
  • integration of legacy devices, heterogeneous in brand and technology;
  • management of activities and work orders, supported by structured IT tools;
  • big data analysis.

To meet these needs, today we can rely on solutions for collecting and monitoring telemetry data, for digitalising distribution and managing direct sales, for tracing cylinders and tanks with RFID, and for managing maintenance technicians.

LPG Week 2023 was, therefore, a remarkable opportunity to share experiences, discover new market trends and build new relationships. We return home with many confirmations and exciting new projects to develop!
