Poli and Aton, when retail feeds on solid roots and digital innovation

Poli has been on the market for 60 years with 67 stores in Trentino-Alto Adige and Veneto. It is a family business strongly rooted in the territory with a great drive for innovation. The creation of trusting relationships and customer care are the basis of our collaboration.

The .onRetail application provides mobile support to shop operators in creating orders, tracking product expiry dates and optimising merchandise procurement at the point of sale, enabling frequent and accurate inventory operations.

The project

Poli has combined tradition and innovation in its way of doing business with a focus on employees, customers and the local area. In Aton, it has found a partner with common values with which to grow and collaborate.  

The .onRetail project originates from Poli’s need to digitise stores operational processes, such as the inventory of products in stock, the control and receipt of incoming goods against orders previously placed with the central warehouse or direct suppliers.  

Our store management application allows Poli’s employees to reduce their workload in order management by giving more attention to the customer and to carry out all movements on the move, eliminating slowdowns caused by the use of a single back-office computer station. 

The capabilities offered by the Android operating system and Zebra terminals have enabled the design of modern and less limiting functionalities compared to the equipment used in the past.

This new approach, characterised by the convergence of shop operations on mobile devices, ensures continuity of activities on the aisle and increases communication between headquarters and the periphery, with a significant impact in terms of organisational efficiency. 

The benefits of .onRetail

  • Reduction of errors due to a better quality of data collected and consulted by shop operators directly in front of the shelf in an efficient and timely manner; 
  • Continuity of operations orders, inventory, goods receipt, product handling, price checking and label printing take place directly in front of the shelf. Working in the aisle allows operators to carry out their tasks simultaneously thanks to mobile devices; 
  • Optimising transport and waste knowing exactly when products are available and when they arrive enables optimised assisted re-ordering. Keeping track of deadlines reduces waste, which is particularly significant in the fresh produce and deli departments where massive daily orders and product types require constant monitoring.  

 

Thanks to our collaboration with Aton, we have optimised our workflows, simplifying and speeding up the activities of our employees, who can thus devote even more attention to customers.
