.PIM: a strategic ally for your sales”. This was the title of the webinar I had the pleasure of presenting, focused on the enrichment of product master data.

During the presentation, one slide in particular highlighted a single keyword: .PIMshort for Product Information Management – one of the core modules of our omnichannel platform, .one.

Why was this word placed front and centre?

The answer is simple: product master data is the beating heart of our applications. It powers our business processes and enables us to stand out in the eyes of our customers.

Without accurate and up-to-date product information, sales teams wouldn’t be able to work effectively, logistics would become inefficient, and neither customers nor stores would receive the level of service they deserve.

The growing complexity of today’s demands

In recent years, product data management has undergone a revolution. Here are just a few of the requests we receive daily from the companies we work with:

  • “We need to add a traceability field – the Digital Product Passport is about to come into force!”
  • “Our customers want to scan a QR code on electronic shelf labels to read the product’s nutritional content.”
  • “Can we integrate new images into our B2C portal?”

These examples clearly show how complex today’s sales channels have become — and how essential it is to provide detailed, integrated product information.

Relying solely on the ERP system to manage product data is no longer enough. Product information now needs to be shared across an ever-growing number of external systems — and must be both detailed and constantly up to date.

This scenario often leads to:

  • data duplication, with systems encoding the same information in different ways
  • errors and inconsistencies, which compromise the overall quality of product data
  • wasted time, due to duplicated effort and the lack of structured data flows.

Collaboration as a strategic necessity

Managing product data today requires cross-functional collaboration: marketing, sales, buyers, suppliers, and store teams must work together.

To make this possible, two things are essential:

  • clear workflows that ensure accurate and complete data entry
  • guidance tools to streamline processes and ensure consistent standards across the board.

Revolutionising product data with .one PIM

When designing our .one PIM module, we focused on the real needs of modern businesses. Its foundation rests on six key pillars:

  1. Centralised data: a single system that distributes product records across all touchpoints (WMS, ERP, B2B/B2C portals, etc.).
  2. Collaborative workflows: to approve product information and notify the responsible users for data entry.
  3. Search & monitoring: fast product search via predefined filters and real-time visibility of completion status.
  4. Guided entry: dropdown menus, multiple-choice fields, and automatic alerts for missing or mandatory data.
  5. Multilingual support: to enable the international management of product information.
  6. AI assistance: to automatically import data from supplier sheets and correct coding errors.

.one PIM: practical advantages

Thanks to the .one PIM module, we’re transforming product data management into a process that is:

  • faster, through optimised workflows and guided data entry
  • more accurate, with tools that minimise errors and eliminate duplication
  • more efficient, by centralising data within a single integrated system.

Our mission is clear: to help companies simplify their daily operations by ensuring product data is always accurate and complete.

And you — what tools do you use to manage your product information?
