This was the title of the webinar I had the pleasure of presenting, focused on the <strong>enrichment of product master data<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>During the presentation, one slide in particular highlighted a single keyword: <strong><span style=\"color: #d00000;\">.<\/span>PIM<\/strong> \u2013 <em>short for Product Information Management<\/em> \u2013 one of the core modules of our omnichannel platform, <strong><span style=\"color: #d00000;\">.<\/span>one<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Why was this word placed front and centre?<\/p>\n<p>The answer is simple: <strong>product master data is the beating heart of our applications<\/strong>. It powers our business processes and enables us to stand out in the eyes of <a href=\"https:\/\/aton.com\/en\/customers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">our customers<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Without accurate and up-to-date <a href=\"https:\/\/aton.com\/en\/meta-information-product-information-management\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">product information<\/a>, sales teams wouldn&#8217;t be able to work effectively, logistics would become inefficient, and neither customers nor stores would receive the level of service they deserve.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>The growing complexity of today&#8217;s demands<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>In recent years, product data management has undergone a revolution. Here are just a few of the requests we receive daily from the companies we work with:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>&#8220;We need to add a traceability field \u2013 the Digital Product Passport is about to come into force!&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>&#8220;Our customers want to scan a QR code on electronic shelf labels to read the product\u2019s nutritional content.&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>&#8220;Can we integrate new images into our B2C portal?&#8221;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These examples clearly show how complex today\u2019s sales channels have become \u2014 and how essential it is to provide <a href=\"https:\/\/aton.com\/en\/the-value-of-data\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">detailed, integrated product information<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Relying solely on the ERP system to manage product data is no longer enough<\/strong>. Product information now needs to be shared across an ever-growing number of external systems \u2014 and must be both detailed and constantly up to date.<\/p>\n<p>This scenario often leads to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>data duplication<\/strong>, with systems encoding the same information in different ways<\/li>\n<li><strong>errors and inconsistencies<\/strong>, which compromise the overall quality of product data<\/li>\n<li><strong>wasted time<\/strong>, due to duplicated effort and the lack of structured data flows.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>Collaboration as a strategic necessity<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Managing product data today requires <strong>cross-functional collaboration<\/strong>: marketing, sales, buyers, suppliers, and store teams must work together.<\/p>\n<p>To make this possible, two things are essential:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>clear workflows<\/strong> that ensure accurate and complete data entry<\/li>\n<li><strong>guidance tools<\/strong> to streamline processes and ensure consistent standards across the board.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>Revolutionising product data with<span style=\"color: #d00000;\"> .<\/span>one PIM<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>When designing our <strong><span style=\"color: #d00000;\">.<\/span>one PIM<\/strong> module, we focused on the real needs of modern businesses.
