The store staff don\u2019t know how to fix the issue, and customers are about to walk away unless they can pay immediately. Meanwhile, in a flagship store in New York, the till won\u2019t allow the sale to be closed, and at the same time the stock management software has crashed \u2014 the requested item can no longer be found.<\/p>\n<p>Situations like these happen every day, often during periods of high pressure \u2014 such as sales seasons or peak shopping times. To ensure <strong>business continuity<\/strong> for our clients 24\/7, at Aton we\u2019ve built <a href=\"https:\/\/aton.com\/en\/fashion-retail-assistance\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>a dedicated team of around one hundred retail consultants<\/strong><\/a>, covering multiple time zones. This strategic team combines in-depth knowledge of <a href=\"https:\/\/aton.com\/en\/fashion-store-needs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">store operations and staff needs<\/a> with strong technical and software management expertise.<\/p>\n<p>To ensure our clients&#8217; business processes run uninterrupted, we decided to develop an in-house <strong>AI Store Assistant<\/strong> \u2014 a digital assistant powered by <strong>artificial intelligence<\/strong>. It has been trained on a comprehensive set of resources, including user and technical manuals, operational workflows, documentation, and best practices, enabling it to handle a wide range of scenarios. <a href=\"https:\/\/aton.com\/en\/building-a-chatbot\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The creation of this assistant<\/a> was the result of over a year\u2019s work by our R&amp;D team. The outcome is <a href=\"https:\/\/aton.com\/en\/retailers-chatbot-assistance\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a brand-new professional figure<\/a> we\u2019ve named the GSA \u2013 Global Store Assistant. This role merges deep human understanding of how a store operates with AI-driven logic and structured protocols. It\u2019s a synthesis of the <strong>collective knowledge we\u2019ve built over the years<\/strong>, combined with the <strong>empathy<\/strong> that only comes from real human interaction \u2014 far beyond the pre-packaged answers of old-generation chatbots.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-72628 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/aton.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/AIStoreAssistant_atonsocietabenefit.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"660\" height=\"440\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Technological evolution has enabled us to connect with our clients through innovative support methods tailored to the fast-paced fashion industry,\u201d explains Giovanni Bonamigo, Business Development Manager at Aton. \u201cCustomer experience must be omnichannel \u2014 and so must support. It needs to be available from any device, wherever the user is, <strong>giving instant access to the store\u2019s knowledge base <\/strong>and <strong>interaction history<\/strong> at any time, whether via voice, app, or digital assistant.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Today, our Global Store Assistants have in-depth knowledge of our clients\u2019 retail processes and provide services that span the entire store lifecycle \u2014 from planning and on-site support during openings to coordinating daily operations. They offer fast access to training-related information, helping to <strong>reduce stress, cut down onboarding time, and minimise staff turnover<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Reinforcing the human side of the service desk is the Service Manager, who works alongside the client with a consultative approach \u2014 actively sharing insights, analysing data, and proposing targeted actions to drive <strong>continuous improvement<\/strong> and <strong>change management initiatives<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe work with artificial intelligence on multiple levels, and we\u2019ve come to understand that only <strong>a close and continuous integration with human intelligence<\/strong> can deliver the right answers \u2014 in the right way and at the right time,\u201d says our CEO, Giorgio De Nardi. \u201cWith our AI platform, we\u2019ve also developed services that collect unstructured content from emails, WhatsApp messages, and voice notes. We\u2019ve already welcomed <strong>17 new team members in the first quarter alone<\/strong> \u2014 but that\u2019s just the beginning. More professionals will soon be joining Aton, selected through the <strong><span style=\"color: #d00000;\">.<\/span>atonAcademy<\/strong> contest \u2014 our Renaissance-inspired training programme, which has just completed its second edition. A total of <strong>520 CVs<\/strong> were submitted by registered users, and <strong>160 candidates<\/strong> completed the course and received certification. Twelve have been selected for an <strong>experience at Aton<\/strong>, and in the coming months we expect to hire at least six of them.<\/p>\n<p>Our AI-related projects were presented on 12 July at the \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/infinitearea.com\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Infinite Area<\/a>\u201d hangar in Montebelluna, during <strong><span style=\"color: #d00000;\">.<\/span>onSummer<\/strong> \u2014 our summer event open to colleagues, clients, partners and journalists.
