{"id":48744,"date":"2023-02-23T16:12:55","date_gmt":"2023-02-23T15:12:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/aton.com\/servizi-strumenti-business-continuity\/"},"modified":"2023-05-02T17:47:57","modified_gmt":"2023-05-02T15:47:57","slug":"services-tools-business-continuity","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aton.com\/en\/services-tools-business-continuity\/","title":{"rendered":"Services and tools to ensure Business Continuity"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>Business Continuity: What is the difference between Business Continuity Plan and Disaster Recovery?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>Business Continuity<\/strong>, also called Operational Continuity or Business Continuity, is defined by ISO 22300 and ISO 22301 as the ability of an organisation to continue to provide services and products following an incident.<\/p>\n<p>To ensure the continuity of all business activities, organisations must devise a series of<strong> strategies<\/strong> to prevent possible system interruptions, thus structuring a <strong>Business Continuity Plan<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>In order to ensure business continuity, there are two key elements: <strong>predictive analysis<\/strong>, which identifies possible threats to IT systems and applications by assessing their vulnerability, and the <strong>Disaster Recovery Plan<\/strong>, i.e. the set of actions required to restore the company&#8217;s IT infrastructure following damaging events.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Business Continuity and sustainability: governing technology in a sustainable way<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The concept of Business Continuity and that of <a href=\"https:\/\/aton.com\/en\/sustainability\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>sustainability<\/strong><\/a>\u202f go hand in hand, especially when it comes to <strong>the management of a hardware fleet<\/strong> within organisations. Our challenge, as a <strong>Societ\u00e0 Benefit<\/strong>, is to help companies <strong>optimise their organisational processes<\/strong>, thereby reducing their environmental and social impact.<\/p>\n<p>As far as environmental sustainability is concerned, the data <a href=\"https:\/\/aton.com\/en\/hardware-maintenance-business-continuity\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">in this article<\/a> are very interesting: among the fastest growing waste in the world, <strong>e-waste<\/strong> is in first place and Europe dominates the ranking, with the highest amount of e-waste per capita.<\/p>\n<p>The causes of this situation?<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Growing use<\/strong> of electronic equipment<\/li>\n<li><strong>Short device lifecycle<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Low propensity to maintain<\/strong> and recondition devices<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-48283\" title=\"business-continuity-soti-aton-img-1\" src=\"https:\/\/aton.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/Senza-titolo.png\" alt=\"business-continuity-soti-aton-img-1\" width=\"760\" height=\"354\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Despite these figures, it must be emphasised that European citizens are showing increasing sensitivity to this topic. In fact,\u202f<strong>Eurobarometro\u202fin 2020<\/strong> tells us that\u202f<strong>77%\u202f<\/strong>of EU citizens\u202f<strong>would prefer to repair their devices rather than replace them<\/strong>, and the percentage rises to 79% when it comes to the possibility of legally obliging manufacturers to facilitate the repair of digital devices or to replace their individual parts.<\/p>\n<p>Regarding <strong>social sustainability<\/strong>, a key issue for Aton and a yardstick for assessing the impact our applications have on users, I refer to the fourth edition of the <em>State of Enterprise Mobility Report<\/em>, which shows that 64 per cent of workers experience<strong> anxiety or stress related to the use of mobile devices<\/strong>, which are now indispensible for the daily work of many.<\/p>\n<p>In 23 per cent of cases, workers fail to offer colleagues and customers the level of service they would like to provide, and in 14 per cent of cases, the increased stress caused by device incidents results in employees leaving their jobs.
