{"id":47824,"date":"2022-11-17T15:08:56","date_gmt":"2022-11-17T14:08:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/aton.com\/the-source-politecnico-milano\/"},"modified":"2025-08-22T12:48:32","modified_gmt":"2025-08-22T10:48:32","slug":"the-source-politecnico-milano","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aton.com\/en\/the-source-politecnico-milano\/","title":{"rendered":"THE SOURCE: companies and experts take stock of retail innovation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>THE SOURCE<\/strong>, the <strong>Experience Room<\/strong>\u202fthat introduces a new way of thinking about omnichannel, opens its doors to the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.osservatori.net\/it\/ricerche\/osservatori-attivi\/innovazione-digitale-nel-retail\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Digital Retail Innovation Observatory<\/a><\/strong> <strong>of the Politecnico di Milano<\/strong> to take stock of retail innovation.<\/p>\n<p>The Experience Room set up in Mion&#8217;s home offers a response to the most current retail issues:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>back-end management\u202f<\/strong>of the entire\u202f<strong>supply chain<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>omnichannel<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>customer experience<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>employee engagement<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Torreglia (PD), 16 november 2022 \u2013<strong>\u202fOmnichannel,\u202fenhancement<\/strong> of the management of the entire <strong>supply chain, innovation<\/strong> in the end-customer experience and effectiveness in <strong>sales<\/strong> and pre-sales <strong>activities<\/strong> were the topics discussed during the presentation event at &#8216;THE SOURCE&#8217;, the Experience Room set up at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mion.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mion<\/a>, which saw the participation of researchers from the Digital Retail Innovation Observatory of the Politecnico di Milano and technology partners Aton and <a href=\"https:\/\/aton.com\/en\/partners\/apesse\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Axon Micrelec<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The unequivocal answer to these important issues lies in the<strong> smart labels<\/strong> produced by Mion: labels that integrate <a href=\"https:\/\/aton.com\/en\/solution\/rfid-uhf-nfc-rtls\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>RFID<\/strong> <\/a>and <strong>QR code technology<\/strong>, making it possible to <strong>trace the entire lifecycle of garments<\/strong>, from production to sale, including the movements that take place in the shop.<\/p>\n<p>An innovation that starts with Aton&#8217;s <strong><span style=\"color: #d00000;\">.<\/span>onTag<\/strong> solution, the <strong>link between physical and digital<\/strong> that puts the product at the centre of a journey that starts from its <strong>production<\/strong>, passes through the <strong>point of sale<\/strong> and reaches the <strong>consumer<\/strong>. On the one hand, the <strong>speed<\/strong> of <strong>tracking<\/strong> makes it possible to know at any time, and practically in real time, which and how many articles are present in a given shop or warehouse, thus <strong>supporting logistics<\/strong>. For pre-sales activities, this type of monitoring allows detailed <strong>knowledge<\/strong> of the <strong>movements of each individual garment<\/strong> within the shop. Valuable information, of fundamental importance for implementing and improving <strong>display and sales strategies<\/strong>, but also able to give feedback on the actual enjoyment of the goods on display, e.g. on the fit of a garment.<br \/>\nInteraction with multimedia kiosks also supports the <strong>consumer&#8217;s experience<\/strong>, opening up a potentially infinite world related to each individual item, but it is also an engagement tool for salespeople, who can benefit from a tool that performs the more &#8216;boring&#8217; functions such as giving information, while at the same time helping to build a <strong>valuable relationship<\/strong> with the customer.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Digital innovation in retail is not just about technology<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The Source is also an example of how the market dynamics of <strong>designing<\/strong> and <strong>supplying hardware and software<\/strong> for the <strong>retail<\/strong> world are changing.
